The paper discusses the etiology and pathogenesis of respiratory diseases, their relation with the level of dams’ health, formation of respiratory, immune systems and metabolism in neonates, gastro-intestinal diseases and omphalitis. It is the first time the methods of prediction of respiratory diseases development in newborn calves are presented.  Much attention is paid to issues of clinical and laboratory diagnostics. The authors give recommendations for the prevention and control of respiratory infections in calves and expound the main principles of treatment of sick animals. The problem of transmissible diseases is becoming widely spread nowadays. Anaplasmosis is one of such diseases. The aim of this research is to show the percentage of ticks contamination depending on species of ticks, their gender and object from which it were gathered with the help of PCR. Also it's necessary to develop conditions of PCR. The object of this study are ticks of Dermacentor and Ixodes genus which were gathered in different areas of Kirov region. Thicks were gathered from animals, people and plants. During the research 283 samples of thick were studied. It was shown that the average percentage of contamination is about 22 – 28%. Also it war proved that carrying agents can be not only female, but male too. The major vector is Dermacentor reticulatus but Ixodes persulcatus can also serve as a vector in Kirov region. Key words:  Ixodic  ticks, Anaplasma, DNA, PCR,  identification.

NONINFECTIOUS DISEASES

43        D'iachkov A.N., Emanov A.A. X-ray dynamics filling acute posttraumatic defects of canine leg bones by the transosseous osteosynthesis method according to Ilizarov

The experiment performed in 24 adult mongrel dogs by modeling an open comminuted leg fracture in them. After that, primary debridement made in the operating room with removal of bone fragments (defect amounted to 24,9±0,7 % of leg length), transosseous osteosynthesis performed with the Ilizarov fixator. Distraction started on Day 7 after the surgery, and it lasted for 72 – 106 days. By 14 days of distraction the zonation of regenerated bone determined, by the middle of distraction – additional translucent zones, and by the end of lengthening the growth plate crossed all over with longitudinally oriented shadows. The period of fixation was 92,7±1,6 days on the average. Organotypical reorganization of the newly formed bone part occurred in a year after the fixator removal. Key words: fracture, bone defect, experiment, dog, leg, the Ilizarov fixator.

An immunochromatographic one-step assay was designed for rapid detection of the African swine fever virus (ASFV). The assay is based on two different monoclonal antibodies that bind to distinct epitopes of the viral protein vp72, one of which was labeled with colloidal gold and coated onto a predetermined site on a glass fiber membrane, whilst another antibody was immobilized on the surface of a nitrocellulose membrane. Diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of this immunochromatographic assay were compared to those of commercial ELISA and PCR kits for samples collected from experimentally challenged and spontaneously infected domestic pigs and wild boars. A 100% sensitivity and specificity were demonstrated for the assay as assessed using blood and spleen samples from sick and fallen animals with a high level of viremia. It was concluded that the assay is suitable for the detection of the African swine fever virus both in laboratories and in the field. Key words: African swine fever virus, immunochromatographic assay, PCR, ELISA, IFA.
