9 Sizov A.А., Dimova A.S., Dimov S.K., Sizov D.A., Arakelyan P.K., Chekishev V.M. Efficiency of using O-polysaccharide antigen in ELISA for the rapid differential diagnosis of brucellosis in cattle

The possibility of using a competitive ELISA for rapid differential diagnosis of brucellosis was investigated. The major antigen of strain 19 B. abortus was sorbed to the surface of the wells of polystyrol plate for ELISA. О-polysaccharide antigen from wild strain of B. abortus added in the liquid phase. The positive correlation between results of ELISA and AGID was found. On the basis of correlation between the results of ELISA and AGID authors proposed the coefficient of the epidemic danger (CED). In the cases of negative results of AGID numeric value CED was in the limits of 0 – 60 %, in the cases of positive values AGID it was higher than 61 %. The results of the study indicate the possibility of using of competitive ELISA for the differential diagnosis of brucellosis. Key words: brucellosis, vaccination, diagnosis, ELISA, cattle, O-polysaccharide antigen, agglutination test, complement-fixation test.

14 Pruglo V.V. Detection and quantitative assessment of specific antibodies against Classical Swine Fever (CSF) by using of two commercial ELISA test-kits

Classical Swine Fever (CSF) is high contagious disease of pigs that inflicts huge economical losses to swine industry. The main targets (in context of CSF) of serological examinations are screening/monitoring of herd status, confirmation of diagnosis and evaluation of postvaccinal immunity. There was performed a comparative assessment of two commercial diagnostic kits (test-kits, test systems) from industry-leading producers. IDEXXCSFV Ab test-kit enable to detect more positive (that contain specific antibodies against CSF) samples of sera in compare with BioChek CSFV-E2 Ab test-kit. Evaluation of repeatability ratio (accuracy) for received results shown that IDEXXCSFV Ab test-kithas better repeatability ratio (accuracy). Keywords: CSF, specific antibodies, ELISA, detection, quantitative assessment, commercial test-kits.

17 Kalashnikova V.A., Sultanova O.A., Demerchayn A.V. Antibiotic susceptibility staphylococcus strains isolated from monkeys

The results of the sensitivity of staphylococci isolated in monkeys to the main groups of antibiotics are presented. The strains resistant to amoxiclav and neomycin were not detected. 90 % of Staph. aureus and Staph. intermedius isolates retained sensitivity to benzylpenicillin. Antibioticograms of the studied staphylococci strains were characterized by high sensitivity to aminoglycosides, carbopenems, levomycetin, fluoroquinolones, but showed absolute resistance to ceftazidime and a high resistance to ampicillin. The necessity of determination the sensitivity of staphylococci to antibacterial drugs is emphasized to increase the clinical effectiveness of treatment of monkeys from staphylococcal infection. Key words: antibiotics, monkeys, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus intermedius.

We present the results of experimental infection of domestic pigs with isolate Martins Crimea 01/16 of African swine fever (ASF) virus, isolated in the Republic of Crimea in 2016. It caused an acute form of the disease with a characteristic hemorrhagic inflammation of the visceral and somatic lymphatic nodules. However, in some experimentally infected animals pathological changes characteristic to ASF were expressed poorly, such as splenitis, lymphadenitis and hemorrhagic diathesis in the cortex and medulla of the kidneys. Passive immunization with antibodies of the pig, which had survived the infection with the Antonovo 07/14 isolate of the ASF virus, did not protect the animals from infection with the Martins Crimea 01/16 isolate. Key words: African swine fever (ASF), pig, symptoms, pathological changes.

OBSTTETRICS, GYNECOLOGY

32 Redkozubova L.I. Factors affecting fertilization in inseminated cows

Fertilization rates of dairy cows are almost the same during lactation or without lactation, about 76,2 – 78,1% on the average. The main reasons of low fertilization rates are viral (infectious rhinotracheitis, viral diarrhea) and bacterial infections (brucellosis, chlamydia, proteus), mycotoxins, heavy metals, improper feeding.  To increase the reproduction rates of the herd it is necessary to induce ovulation in females within 7 – 18 hours right after artificial insemination. In this case pharmacological methods are used to regulate estrus with prostaglandins and analogues of GnRH. Key words: ovulation delay, insemination, Dinorin, Quintrol, Gonatil, Super Booster, Ultravit.

34 Kramskaya M.S., Plemyashov K.V., Videnin V.N., Anipchenko P.S., Kamfarin D.P. Evaluation efficiency of the reflexological method detecting mares in estrus with the help of teaser stallions

Two methods used for detection estrus among mares under their herd maintenance at one of the stud farms in the Rostov region. The first of them based on the establishment the presence of external manifestations of estrus and the results of vaginal examination, the second (reflexological) – on the use of a teaser stallion with a surgically wrenched penis. In both cases the results of testing were confirmed by ultrasonography. It was found that both methods allow detecting estrus in mares with a high degree of reliability. Keywords: horse, estrus, teaser stallion, ultrasonography.

NONINFECTIOUS DISEASES

37 Vasilyeva E.V., Stekolnikov A.A.  Diagnostics of sudden vision loss in dogs

Sudden vision loss is an urgent condition in veterinary ophthalmology that is determined by the fact that therapeutically and surgical treatment is the most effective within the first hours-days of the disease. Consequently, early and precise diagnostics of acute blindness is obligatory for good prognosis for returning of vision [1]. Diagnostic procedures for acute vision loss in dogs could be multiple and expensive due to wide range of etiological factors, for example, standard ophthalmological examination can reveal bilateral retinal detachment and optic nerve head neuritis, but in some cases ocular pathology can not be identified without using special methods – electroretinography [4], or blindness could be caused by disease of central nervous system, which can be investigated by magnetic resonance imaging of the brain [1 – 3]. Due to the multiple stages in diagnostic process the order of diagnostic procedures is required which can be determined by accessing the chromatic pupillary light reflexes. Evaluation of the pupillary light reflex (PLR) to white light has been used for decades in assessing diseases, which can affect retina, optic nerve, and anterior visual pathways (chiasm, optic tract, and mid-brain pathways), however, deficit of pupillary light reflex does not help to differentiate whether problems are present in the retina or at the level of the optic nerve and/or brain. Discovery of photosensitive pigment (melanopsin) in retinal ganglion cells provided new method of PLR assessment, specifically, separate stimulation of photoreceptors and ganglion cells by the light with determined wavelength (630 nm and 480 nm respectively), which, therefore, allows to differentiate the level of lesion [5]. The purpose of this study was a comparison of data received from routine ophthalmic examination, chromatic pupillary light reflexes, electroretinography and magnetic resonance imaging of the brain in two groups of dogs with sudden loss of vision. Key words: blindness, mydriasis, sudden acquired retinal degeneration, electroretinography, chromatic pupillary light reflexes, diagnostics.
